Painting Tip (3rd July 2005)

If you're not happy using pastels on traditional papers and boards, try using a very fine Glass Paper. (P400 & P500 are suitable).

I use a grey or black paper, pre-mounted on card.
The black paper provides a stunning dark ground, perfect for using strong colours & light effects.

An example of this can be seen in the painting, 'Camber Sands, East Sussex'
